The "Near Enough Is Good Enough" Mix

Adelaide-based musician Jake Clark, aka Pipe Guy, has caused a viral storm online in the past few days after the arrival of a video of him perfectly re-creating techno-style tunes in an impressive medley, using only a PVC pipe set-up — known as a "tubulum" or "thongophone" — with a simple kick drum, and a humble pair of pluggers.

Since being posted less than a week ago, the clip has stormed to online cult status, netting more than 1 million views and being passed around social media circles like the most powerful joint on Earth.

Have a watch below as he builds up to some truly impressive displays of co-ordination as he keeps the four-to-the-floor kick beat coming while his bassy tubes handle the melody. It's really quite incredible:

The 25-year-old SA native has been playing drums since high school, he told A+, and made the tubulum/thongophone about two years ago. When he's not bashing pipes for bucks, he also handles guitar duties in Adelaide post-/prog-rock outfit Momoko Soda.

He's been keeping extra-busy of late getting together his first official single, which he says will be a trance composition and boast an accompanying video clip, so it might be prescient to head over to Pipe Guy's Facebook page and chuck him a Like so you can stay in the loop when this obvious talent comes in off the streets.
