After Sublime and Counting Crows confirmed that they’re still heading to Australia despite the cancellation of this year’s Bluesfest, another two international acts have done the same.

Reggae icons and Bob Marley’s band, The Wailers, along with English Celtic punk band The Pogues, have announced that they’re still heading to Australia next month.

In the case of The Wailers, a new batch of tour dates has been confirmed, with a previously announced Melbourne show no longer on the itinerary. However, the band’s tour – now presented by Noisy Group – will include a run of intimate East Coast dates in Gosford, Sydney, Port Macquarie, Coffs Harbour, and Brunswick Heads, wrapping up on Easter Weekend.

In 2026, The Wailers are commemorating the 50th anniversary of Rastaman Vibration – Bob Marley’s landmark 1976 record, which took reggae global.

To this day, The Wailers are led by Aston Barrett Jr. – the son of legendary Aston FamilymanBarrett – and honour their roots. Joined by powerhouse vocalist Mitchell Brunings, the band consistently delivers a soul-stirring setlist that celebrates the history and future of reggae.

The Pogues’ Australian and New Zealand tour is also still going ahead, with a new show added in Brisbane and all the other originally announced shows remaining on their dates.

The new show will take place on Thursday, 2 April, at the Fortitude Music Hall – tickets will be available on Monday, 23 March, at 10 am AEST via Ticketmaster.

For their upcoming shows in Australia, The Pogues will celebrate the 40th anniversary of their classic album, Rum, Sodomy & the Lash. Original members James Fearnley, Jem Finer and Spider Stacy are performing alongside a stellar line-up and musicians, such as Daragh Lynch, Iona Zajac, John Francis Flynn and Lisa O’Neill
