A security guard working at the Vagos Metal Fest in Portugal has gone viral for his crowd surfing escapades.

The guard got a little carried way during the set by Italian power metal band Wind Rose, at Vagos Metal Fest in Portugal over the weekend, taking a well-timed stage-dive and going for a crowd-surf that has seen him become an instant legend of the internet metal community.

Watch the guard whose name is not yet known in all his joyous crowd-surfing glory below.

Wind Rose were impressed by his efforts (and seemingly their own too) commenting that "Our show at Vagos Metal Fest was so good the security crowd surfed"

The band also posted a hilarious comparison video to Instagram, comparing security at a trap show, to that at one of their shows.

Wind Rose released their most recent full-length Warfront earlier this year via Napalm Records.

The crowd-surfing security guard is definitely a step-up from the guard who tackled Tom Morello off the stage during a recent Rage Against The Machine show. Morello narrowly avoided injury after being tackled off the stage in Toronto.

The near-miss took place when a fan rushed the stage during Rage Against The Machine's rendition of Killing In The Name in Toronto.

In some fan footage, you can view below, Morello is tackled by security in the confusion, resulting in him being bumped from the stage. Thankfully, Morello appears to escape unscathed, returning to play the remainder of the show.

The band are currently on tour with Run The Jewels on the ‘Public Service Announcement Tour’. The tour will see Rage Against The Machine play in 51 shows in 40 cities across 12 countries.

It's not the first time that the tour has made the news, with Rage Against The Machine making no secret of their opposition to the US supreme court's decision to overturn ‘Roe v. Wade’, displaying messages of support for reproductive rights on a giant digital screen at shows on the tour.
