Rage Against The Machine have made a bold return to the stage in Wisconsin encouraging fans to “abort the supreme court”.

Playing the first show of their much-delayed, long-awaited reunion tour, Rage Against The Machine made no secret of their opposition to the US supreme court's decision to overturn ‘Roe v. Wade’, displaying messages of support for reproductive rights on a giant digital screen.

As reported by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, the messages read “Forced birth in a country that is the only wealthy country in the world without any guaranteed paid parental leave at the national level.”

“Forced birth in a country where Black birth-givers experience maternal mortality two to three times higher than that of white birth-givers.”

“Forced birth in a country where gun violence is the number one cause of death among children and teenagers.” “Abort the Supreme Court.”

The pro-choice messaging displayed is at odds with current law in the state of Wisconsin, where abortion is currently illegal. You can watch a video of the messages taken at the July 9 show below.

It’s not the first time that Rage Against The Machine have made their thoughts on the matter felt with the rap-rock icons making a statement via Instagram in June. Rolling Stone reports that the band will be donating $475,000 to abortion access groups in Wisconsin and Illinois.

The band are currently on tour with Run The Jewels on the ‘Public Service Announcement Tour’. The tour will see Rage Against The Machine play in 51 shows in 40 cities across 12 countries and will see them step foot in many areas where abortion is currently criminalised.
