Another high point for Australian journalism

More Peking Duk More Peking Duk

If you were at Stereosonic this year, you might have happened across journalistic national treasure and Today co-host Karl Stefanovic. But, as those in attendance would be all too aware, Stefanovic wasn't actually at the festival — but he was there in spirit, flashed on the big screen in front of thousands of punters to introduce the eagerly awaited set from ascendant duo Peking Duk.

Now, thanks to the magic of streaming video services (the lads were kind enough to post the clip to Facebook and YouTube), we're able to share this inimitable piece of music-festival memorabilia with you, so you too can perhaps preface your next Peking Duk listening party with some wise words from Stefanovic himself, as he implores folks to simmle - er, simmer - down and listen up as he settles into the role of hype man for the pair.

"Now, you should know by now that I love nothing more than getting absolutely Peking Duk'd at a music festival," Stefanovic says in the clip before uttering a truly wonderful forced laugh. "But, alas, I can't get Peking Duk'd this year because of bloody work; anyway, here we are."

You should really just watch it, because it's kind of magical.

Now that you are in the mood, you can behold the consequent effects of Peking Duk's Stefanovic-approved set with some fan-shot footage of the crowd losing their mind to the boys dropping Darude's Sandstorm in Sydney, and carry the beat to a watch-through of the official clip for latest single Take Me Over, featuring SAFIA.

Peking Duk have a handful of appearances left for the year - they hit the Adelaide Uni Bar this Thursday, December 11, with Allday, SAFIA, Flamingo, Skies and Cats DJs, as well as the Observatory, in Hobart, on Friday, December 19.From there, they appear at Beyond The Valley, on Phillip Island, on Tuesday, December 30, and kick off the new year on January 1 at Field Day, at Sydney's Domain.
