‘I Have To Go Rogue Every Single Time’: Peach PRC Reflects On The Past As She Steps Into Her New Era

Watch A Tiny Puppet Accurately Drum Along With Rush's 'Tom Sawyer'

Introducing Chops, your new favourite musician

We don't know what drives a man to make a tiny puppet and working drum kit and then film himself making said puppet use said kit to play along with Rush's enduring 1981 cut Tom Sawyer, but we don't need to know — we're just glad it happened.

Indeed, musician, marioneteer, prop builder, set designer and craftsman Ricky Syers — the man behind the miniature madness — himself doesn't even quite seem to know what conjured this creation, which stars a little wooden friend named Chops, in his subconscious. Rather, Syers merely accompanied a YouTube video of the performance that appeared this week by clarifying that he "didn't expect [the puppet and props] to actually work", but nonetheless "here's Chops tryin to get through Rush's Tom Sawyer!"

Hey, that's all the reason we need. Check out the little rock star below, and be suitably impressed (2.30-2.50 is pretty jaw-dropping alone).

If that's not enough of Chops for you, Syers recently uploaded another video of the little drummer man freestyling his own solo on his kit — watch him go:
