The fledgling local arm will be the fourth international expansion for the company
Brooklyn-based digital music distribution and publishing administration service provider TuneCore has announced that it will be further expanding its international operations with the launch of local arm TuneCore Australia.
According to the company's launch statement, TuneCore's local operations are designed to allow Australian artists the chance to "collect revenue [in AUD] from streaming services, digital download stores, songwriter royalties and sync licensing opportunities".
"With the new expansion, TuneCore Australia artists can opt to include their music in storefronts controlled by TuneCore's extensive network of digital partners across the globe, including iTunes, Spotify, Apple Music, Google Play, Amazon Music, Deezer, 8tracks and KKBOX, among many others," the organisation said in its statement.
"In addition, Australian members will have access to TuneCore's robust portfolio of artist support services, including YouTube Sound Recording Revenues, LANDR, and TrackSmarts, as well as TuneCore customer support," it continued.

TuneCore currently boasts more than 150 international partner companies, with the Australian operation marking the organisation's fourth international expansion following the launch of TuneCore UK earlier this year and the arrival of TuneCore Canada and TuneCore Japan in 2011 and 2012 respectively.
It will cost new Australian TuneCore members $14.99 to upload a single or distribution via TuneCore, with album distribution costing $39.99 for the first year and $65.99 each year thereafter, while artists also have the option to pay a once-off fee of $99.99 to access the TuneCore Publishing Administration, providing worldwide registration and royalty collection and placement opportunities for syncs across film, TV advertising, video games and more.
"Our primary focus has always been to help music-makers get their tracks and albums out worldwide for fans to enjoy," TuneCore chief executive Scott Ackerman said in a statement.
"Our continued global expansion into the Australian market will help further our mission to bring more music to more people around the world, while also helping musicians and artists collect revenue through TuneCore's variety of services."
TuneCore was founded in 2006 in Brooklyn, New York; over the ensuing nine years, it has generated more than $US600 million (about $846.7 million) in revenue for its artists, racking up more than 22.5 billion downloads and streams to date.
