'Unbreakable Bruce Willis' Is The Netflix Show You Didn't Know You Wanted

It just makes so much sense

Those among us who already subscribe to Netflix know this, but Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt is one of the best new series to be getting around out there, easily standing next to the likes of Daredevil, House Of Cards and Orange Is The New Black as a case study in the growing power of the streaming service.

By the same token, Unbreakable, a 2000 drama starring Bruce Willis and Samuel L Jackson about a security guard who discovers that he has super powers, has attained cult-favourite status in the 15 years since its release. Other than the titular adjective, though, Unbreakable and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt have pretty much nothing in common.

Or, rather, they had nothing in common, until YouTube channel Super Secret Show joined the dots and mashed up the show's opening credits (and utter earworm of a theme song — grab the gum) with footage from M. Night Shyamalan's very serious film and created the Netflix show we never knew we wanted until right this minute — Unbreakable Bruce Willis.

See the magnificence below.

Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt was created by Tina Fey and Robert Carlock, and stars Ellie Kemper (The Office) as the eponymous Kimmy, who is rescued after more than a decade trapped in a bunker under the control of a manipulative preacher (Jon Hamm) and who learns to be an adult for the first time at age 30, living in New York City with her roommate Titus (Tituss Burgess) and eccentric landlady Lillian (Carol Kane), with Jane Krakowski, Sara Chase, Lauren Adams and Sol Miranda in supporting roles. Season two is scheduled to be released on Netflix in 2016.
