ULTRA Australia Festival To Go Ahead This Weekend Despite International Cancellation

Organisers issued a statement to The Music today.

The ULTRA Australia dance festival will go ahead this weekend despite the cancellation of Ultra's Abu Dhabi leg.

As Billboard reports, the global electronic music festival yesterday confirmed that its Abu Dhabi event, scheduled to start tomorrow, would not be going ahead. Though not stated by organisers, it is assumed the cancellation comes in relation to coronavirus, which has been the reason for a number of tours and shows globally being postponed or called off in the last week.

A number of acts featured on the Abu Dhabi line-up are scheduled to appear at the events in Sydney and Melbourne this weekend, including Afrojack, Dash Berlin, Zedd and DJ Snake.

ULTRA Australia told The Music today that the Abu Dhabi cancellation will not impact the Australian shows.

‘ULTRA Australia will be going ahead as scheduled, a spokesperson said.

"We look forward to two huge shows in both Sydney and Melbourne this weekend."
