The Strokes Announce 2027 Australian Tour

The Strokes make their highly anticipated return to Australia in February 2027, touring in support of their new record, 'Reality Awaits.'

After a major teaser was spotted in Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley, it’s official: The Strokes are bringing their Reality Awaits tour to Australia in 2027.

Four East Coast dates have been confirmed. The tour begins at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre on Saturday, 13 February, then moves to Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena on Tuesday, 16 February, and Wednesday, 17 February, and concludes at the inaugural Sydney Summertime Festival at Centennial Park on Saturday, 20 February.

For Sydney Summertime’s debut, The Strokes will headline a bill where they’ll be joined by Grammy Award-winning artist Beck, Aussie indie rock star Courtney Barnett, and Promiseland, the high-energy project of Johann Rashid, signed to Julian Casablancas’ Cult Records.

Courtney Barnett and Promiseland will also open the shows in Brisbane and Melbourne.

The Strokes are touring in support of their latest album, Reality Awaits, which was released in July.

The follow-up to 2020’s The New Abnormal was produced by Rick Rubin and preceded by the singles Going Shopping and Falling Out of Love. Upon its release, Reality Awaits debuted at #10 on the ARIA Albums Chart.

It hasn’t been too long since Australian fans last saw The Strokes perform on our shores. The US rockers co-headlined last year’s Harvest Rock Festival in Adelaide alongside country star Jelly Roll. However, they were exclusive to the event.

Before Harvest Rock, The Strokes last visited Australia for Splendour in the Grass – along with sideshows in Melbourne and Sydney – in 2022. Before then, they performed at the festival in 2016 and 2010 and embarked on headline dates in 2010.
