Famous U2 Conference To Be Held In Australia For The First Time Ever

"It’s never been held in the city where U2 are playing the next night."

More U2 U2

To coincide with an Australian tour next month, the famous U2 conference will be held in the country for the first time ever.

The conference, previously held twice in the US and Ireland, will take place on 21 November at Sydney's Studios 301 and feature exclusive film screenings, presentations and interactive activities.

Confirmed to appear on the day includes Australian filmmaker Richard Lowenstein who made 1989 documentary U2 Lovetown and produced music videos for Angel Of Harlem and Desire

Lowenstein also directed the recently-released Michael Hutchence documentary, Mystify: Michael Hutchence.

“This is a hugely exciting event for U2 fans and anyone interested in researching popular music and culture," conference organiser Naomi Dinnen said.

"The U2 Conference has never been held in Australia before, and it’s never been held in the city where U2 are playing the next night, and there are fans and academics from all over the world coming to Sydney for the experience."
