The Odd Future rappper in hot water over one of his performances
Rapper and Odd Future member Tyler, The Creator has been arrested at SxSW this weekend over suspicion of attempting to incite a riot at a performance.
According to the LA Times, the controversial MC was arrested at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport on Saturday in relation to the incident that happened the previous night. Tyler was performing at a Converse and Thrasher Magazine showcase at the Scoot Inn venue when he is alleged to have led a chant of "push, push, push" to fans wanting to get into the concert, encouraging them to break down the barricade.
Police released a statement on the incident, with Tyler - real name Tyler Gregory Okonma - charged with Riot-Class A Misdemeanor.
"The subject encouraged a large crowd on more than one occasion to force themselves past venue employees controlling access at the venue which was already at full capacity," the statement read.
