Highly anticipated triple j bonanza Requestival is back again for its third year of wicked and whacky requests.
From 6am-10pm on Monday the 26th to Friday the 30th, triple j listeners will have full control over the decks, picking out a load of songs to soundtrack the week.
Coming to fruition in the first year of the pandemic and offering up a small morsel of fun in those darker months, Requestival has become an Aussie fan favourite, providing a fun week of music that is as weird as it is wonderful.
This year, triple j have switched it up a bit, laying out a theme and asking for listeners to request songs that make them "turn TF up – the nostalgic throwbacks, pump-up playlists, so-bad-they’re-good bangers, beloved classics and everything in between."
However, they've made it clear that "there's no such thing as a bad or too-crazy request" so go wild! Make Requestival history!
To partake in the fun, download or update the triple j app and make your request from Wednesday 21 to have a chance of your top pick being played. You'll be able to make one new song request each day, so make each vote count!

Additionally in the app, you'll be able to give your opinion on the tracks played throughout the weeks through a very sophisticated emoji system; 'Heart' for love and 'Vomit Face' for dislike. Last year, Taylor Swift's Shake It Off proved the most divisive with 43% heart emojis and 52.6% vomit emojis across 21,298 reactions whereas John Williams' Star Wars tune Duel Of The Fates proved the opposite with 16,682 reactions, with 85% of them being a heart react and 9.2% vomit emojis.
Requestival 2020 saw a total of 105,430 requests made through the triple j app across the week, with 26,831 new downloads of the app. The station has also shared that they received a whopping 38,000 texts across the week, two and a half times the amount they normally would.
