triple j’s One Night Stand returns this September, and the team is calling on music fans in rural and regional areas to nominate their location to host the 2026 event.
As revealed by Abby & Tyrone on triple j Drive yesterday afternoon (11 March), the national youth broadcaster is looking to visit a town near you this September. They’re just asking for some help before choosing a location.
If you’d like triple j’s One Night Stand to land in your hometown, you can send the triple j team a pitch. They want to know about your town, what’s special about it, and how hosting the festival would make an impact on young people in your local community.
You can submit your pitch here ahead of the submission deadline at 9 am AEDT on Monday, 23 March.
Last year, triple j’s One Night Stand stopped in Busselton, Western Australia. The all-ages event welcomed 15,000 music fans and hosted the likes of Spacey Jane, LUUDE, Ruby Fields, 3%, Inkabee and Flewnt, Blusher, and Velvet Trip, the triple j Unearthed competition winners.
At the conclusion of last year’s event, 98% of punters said they’re more likely to seek out new Australian music after One Night Stand visited their hometown. Plus, there was a monetary impact. $1.5 million was injected into the local economy, and more than $230,000 was raised for music industry charities Support Act and The Push, as well as local charity partners.
