Flume, The Rubens get sales boost

More Flume More Flume

Flume and The Rubens have both enjoyed strong jumps in the ARIA Albums Chart this week following their headline duties at triple j's One Night Stand.

The free annual regional festival was held Saturday 13 April in Dubbo and has pushed Flume's Flume back into the top ten for the third time. It rose to six from last week's 13. Further down the list The Ruben's The Rubens re-entered the top 50 at 26.

This week's number one came from Michael Buble's new record To Be Loved, with the Canadian crooner's fifth number one holding off Fall Out Boy's comeback record Save Rock And Roll. The American pop-punk outfit's previous best chart position was Infinity On High's peak of four in 2007. Also breaking new ground is Diplo's Major Lazer project which cracked the Aussie top 100 for the first time with Free The Universe landing at five.

The Voice judge Ricky Martin returned to the top ten, his fourth entry and first since Sound Loaded in November 2000, with his Greatest Hits compilation. Obviously buoyed by his reality TV stint, The Voice isn't having the same impact in the album or singles chart as it did last year for the first season. As the show enters its second phase and solidifies its final contestants, expect it to have a larger presence.

Passenger's Let Her Go kept its hold on the ARIA Singles Chart in the meantime, with the English singer/songwriter's fourth consecutive week at number one. He had almost double the sales of number two – Mtko's Thank You – and if he can extend the run to five weeks will have the longest hold at the top for the year so far.

Stafford Brothers featuring Lil Wayne and Christina Milian held steady at four as the highest local track while Flume's push continued with Holdin On rising to 23. Holdin On also remained at three on the ARIA Streaming Tracks Chart.

Australian artists are making an impact in the American dance charts as well, with Stafford Brothers' Hello up to 22 in the Dance/Club Play chart this week. Nervo's track Hold On bulleted as well, up to 34 from 51. Last week Nick Skitz had joined the same chart.
