Mental Health Music Charity Announces 'First Of Its Kind' Festival

Mental health music festival is shining a light on inspirational artists and their stories.

The award-winning mental health music charity Listen Up Music is announcing Torch Fest Brisbane, a full-day festival on 10 April at The West Room featuring 12 Queensland acts.

Torch Fest is their inaugural mental health music festival shining a light on inspirational artists and their stories.

The line-up for the festival includes Tia Gostelow, DOOLIE, ELEEA, Jordan Merrick, Leonie Kingdom, Genes, Ella Fence and more.

With mental health having such a huge impact on the music industry, especially in recent COVID times, the festival is seen as a chance to eradicate the stigma associated with talking about mental health, while retaining the essence of fun and celebration.

"Torch Fest has been an idea that I have had for some time now, and it feels right to be launching it at a time when connection and community are so very important. COVID-19 has had an enormous impact on communities all across the country, and the idea of music being something to get you through, coupled with the huge importance to artists of being able to perform live, it's a no brainer," says Ali Taylor, the co-founder of Listen Up Music.

All performers on the day will perform a Torch Song as part of their full set. The festival will distribute battery-powered torches to each attendee to flick on when each of the Torch Songs are played throughout the day, creating a stunning atmosphere.
