Three people have been injured at a concert in the US this week, after the venue's ceiling caved in and collapsed on to the floor.

As Loudwire reports, Canadian hard rock act Theory Of A Deadman were performing at the First Avenue club in Minneapolis when a 30 foot by 30 foot portion of the ceiling crashed down over the balcony and soundbooth mid-set.

The band, as well as the 750 concert-goers were evacuated by venue staff, the Minneapolis fire department and paramedics, however two of the three injured were taken to hospital shortly after — none of the injuries are believed to be life threatening.

The collapse is believed to have occurred due to a leaky pipe, which resulted in water covering the ceiling and causing it to crumble under the weight.
