"You can boo all you want, but I'm the motherfucking artist up here."
Veteran US outfit Third Eye Blind were surprised when they took to the stage for a charity show in Cleveland this week to find the room was mostly made up of Donald Trump supporters and instead of letting that get to them, the band decided to have some fun with it and went on quite the troll rampage.
As TMZ reports, the rock group were unaware that their gig at the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame would be filled with supporters in town for the Republican National Convention.
Frontman Stephan Jenkins played up to the crowd many times throughout the set, expressing his negative views about Trump and promoting gay rights.
Cleveland.com reported the 51-year-old also told the crowd who continuously booed him, "You can boo all you want, but I'm the motherfucking artist up here".

If that wasn't enough sass, Jenkins later admitted that the band intentionally avoided playing their fan-favourite track Semi-Charmed Life.

Shortly after the gig, Third Eye Blind took to their Facebook to address the highly-talked about show.
"We did not play an RNC event," the statement reads.
"We performed at a benefit for Musicians on Call because we support their mission in bringing music to the bedsides of patients in hospitals.
"Given that the benefit was held in Cleveland, we suspected that convention types might show up and we let it be known we were there to support Musicians on Call and that we in fact repudiate every last stitch of the RNC platform and the grotesque that is their nominee.
- Science is science.
- Coal is not clean.
- Black Lives Matter.
- LGBTQ = equal.
- Separation of church and state (still a good idea)"
