The band will still head out with KISS and Mötley Crüe.
Irish rockers Thin Lizzy have pulled the pin on the majority of the dates they were scheduled to play in Australia while they are out here next month.
The band will still play the shows opening for glam rock legends KISS and Mötley Crüe, but have had to cancelfive of the six headline shows they had booked around the country while they were here.
There has been no reason given for the cancellation at this time, except that the circumstances are "way beyond the band's control", according to a post on their Facebook page.
UPDATE: Penrith Panthers staff have assured theMusic.com.au this afternoon that the show at their venue has not been cancelled and will go ahead as planned.
The website of Andrew MacManus, the tour's promoter, also suggests that the Penrith show has been spared, contrary to what the band themselves have reported.
The tour was set to be a rare chance for audiences to see this band under the Thin Lizzy banner after they announced late last year that they were to become a new band by the name of Black Star Riders, in order to respect the legacy of late frontman Phil Lynott.
