TheMusic Evolution: We Look Even Better And We've Gotten Even Bigger

10 July 2014 | 5:28 pm | Staff Writer

Welcome to theMusic version 2.0!

Today theMusic.com.au unveiled version 2.0 of the website.

TheMusic has expanded its content and evolved a more user-friendly interface.

However, the site's launch day has been hampered by crashes with their server battling to handle the amount of traffic the revamp has attracted.

TheMusic version 1.0 quickly garnered itself a reputation for breaking news as well as for publishing quality interviews and up-to-the-minute festival and gig coverage. The site is now set to expand upon all that and create additional content.

Don't miss a beat with our FREE daily newsletter

The site has introduced new Arts, Film & TV, Culture and Comedy tabs - all featuring a national array of news, reviews and interviews.

The Guide tab now also offers the latest in gig and venue news for your state and region alongside the country's most extensive gig search function (now also downloadable as an app for both iPhone and android handsets).

Our revamped Festivals tab gives you all the season's information in a click as well as connecting you with all the latest updates and interviews with upcoming festival guests.

We will also continue to bring the best in pre-release music streams, premiere music videos and giveaways.

Group Managing Editor Andrew Mast said, “It's been a long time coming but we've listened to the feedback from our users and spent the past few months tweaking the site to best suit their wants and needs.

“It's an exciting achievement to be able to unveil the updated site so close to the successful launch of our new app.”

Craig Treweek, Director of Street Press Australia – the publishers of theMusic - added, “Since the rebranding of the magazines we have been about so much more than music and todays launch allows us to present our broad range of content across our digital platforms.”

TheMusic.com.au Editor Scott Fitzsimons has also trumpeted the brand's new look e-letter, “Today we also publish version 3.0 of our newsletter. We believe the new look of the daily bulletin will reflect the site's sleek re-design and its increased user-friendliness.”
