The Melbourne punks have lined up nine shows around the country to round out their year
Melburnian punk band The Sinking Teeth are all set to close out 2016 with a bang, announcing today a nine-date run of shows in the wake of the impending release of new album Songs From The Bottom Of The Lake.
With the LP due for release on Friday 11 November, the band will follow up its arrival by kicking off their tour a week later at The Edinburgh Castle, in Adelaide. From there, they hit most corners of the country as they roll through Brisbane, Sydney, Enmore, Canberra, Melbourne, Perth (two shows) and Fremantle, where they close out a few days before Christmas.
The band are doubtlessly itching to take the tunes from the new full-length out on the road, having recorded the entire thing in late 2015 and spent the ensuing 12 months patiently sitting on it for the time to be just right to usher it out into the world. They recorded Songs From The Bottom Of The Lake at Melbourne's renowned Studios In The City with decorated desk-man Tom Larkin (Shihad, High Tension, Bodyjar), and describe the finished work as "a collection of self-reflective stories from our lives", according to bassist and vocalist Julian Doan.

"There's songs about friends, girlfriends, [member] Nick [Manuell]'s dad, leaving our hometowns, and a song I wrote about my mum's depression," he explained.
"We're super-keen to get this record out so we can start recording the next thing with the new line-up. The songs just keep coming!"
The Sinking Teeth recently provided a bit of a taster for the LP by way of excellent single Salt & Stitches; check out the video, shot and edited by the band's Nick Manuell, below. Songs From The Bottom Of The Lake will be available via their Bandcamp page.
