Applications close this August.

Aussie music and arts organisation The Seed Fund enters its 12th year in 2016 and the funding round is now open for emerging musicians, artists and arts workers.

Since its inception, The Seed Fund, established by ARIA Award winning artist John Butler, has supported over 430 projects and individuals by delivering over $1 million in funds.

The annual Management Workshop will be held in Melbourne yet again this year, with 25 opportunities available for local emerging managers and self-managed artists.

Up to $70,000 will be put into the workshop which in the past has seen managers for acts including Joni In The Moon and Vallis Alps undertake the course.

"The Seed Workshop has been a turning point in my career - I am more energised and enthusiastic about artist management, which will no doubt also benefit my artists in spades," Matthew Cannings said, who manages the likes of L-FRESH The Lion and Little Sea.

"Personal development is crucial in this industry, but very often rare, and The Seed provides the perfect space for that to happen amongst your peers."

Other initiatives this year include the Bush Bands Business, a three-day development program for Central Desert bush bands, Song Cycles Inbound, which takes urban music industry professionals to remote Australian indigenous community festivals and the Support For The Asylum Seekers Resource Centre Music Group partnership, which sees The Seed fund the purchase of new and existing instruments, as well as deliver masterclasses to the ASRC Music Group.

Applications are open now and close at 5pm on Monday, 1 August.
