Telenova ProfileIndie rockers Telenova have cancelled their forthcoming trek across Europe and the UK, citing touring difficulties for an Australian band of their size.
Back in May, the band rescheduled their UK and European dates for October, at the time saying it was due to “the flow-on effects of international conflicts and rising travel costs.” Unfortunately, the tour hasn’t panned out, and Telenova are now refunding the shows.
“To our dear EU/UK fans, we’ve got some sad news,” the band wrote on Instagram on Monday (21 September). “Unfortunately, we’re going to have to refund the 2026 EU/UK tour. We’re heartbroken, especially as some of these shows were on track to be our biggest overseas headline shows yet.”
The band added that, despite their audience growth in the region, “it’s incredibly hard for Australian acts of our size to tour overseas.” Telenova also said they’ve worked tirelessly with their team to “find every possible way to make this work.”
The resulting tour cancellation is a “huge blow” for the band, they wrote. “Thank you to everyone who bought a ticket, was going to buy one, listens to our music, tells their friends about it, and supports live music in general,” they continued.
“In a world that can feel disconnected, noisy and non-stop, it’s pretty amazing to know music can form connections across oceans, borders and timezones. We’re very grateful for the connection we share. Thank you for understanding.”
Acknowledging that nothing can replace the feeling of seeing a band play a gig, Telenova are offering something sweet for fans: a time zone-friendly Q&A with fans in Europe and the UK about their latest album, The Warning, as well as a meet and greet.
The Q&A and meet-and-greet take place on Sunday, 4 October, at 8 pm BST via the band’s Discord.
Later this month and in early November, Telenova will embark on a “scenic tour” trek across Australia, playing in just four intimate venues. Additionally, they’ll support Spacey Jane on their epic November and December Australian tour.
