A 17-year-old boy has been charged with assault after allegedly throwing punches at UK Grime star Central Cee’s concert on Wednesday (2 July).

7 News and Perth Now report that approximately 40 minutes after Central Cee took to the stage at 9 pm, the teen allegedly hit a 25-year-old man and a 29-year-old man in the seated section, reportedly knocking the woman unconscious.

Witnesses at the concert claimed that the teenager punched the pair for over two minutes. Perth Police responded to the incident at 9:45 pm and charged the teen from Gosnells with “one count each of assault occasioning bodily harm and common assault,” Perth Now reports.

Perth Police added that the alleged assault caused the victims to suffer “bruising to the head and face,” while claiming that “the juvenile resisted arrest and was verbally abusive towards officers.”

In addition to the assault charges, the teenager was charged with “one count each of disorderly behaviour in a public place and obstructing public officers.”

The teen will appear in the Perth Children’s Court on Tuesday, 29 July.

Witness Campbell Darby told 7 News that the alleged assault happened right next to him, and he “had to move out of the way,” reporting that the woman was “knocked out, fully unconscious.” Darby also noted that he ended up helping other punters near him to move aside so they wouldn’t be hit.

The Perth show was the last on Central Cee’s Can’t Rush Greatness tour of Australia and New Zealand, having already performed in Auckland, Brisbane, Sydney, and Melbourne.

The tour marked his first headline run in Australia and followed his recent appearances Down Under at this year’s Field Day and Wildlands music festivals. Named after his latest album, the Can’t Rush Greatness tour encompasses 39 tour dates across the globe, ending in Australia and New Zealand.
