Swedish House Mafia Reunion Struggling, As Shows Are Cancelled Due To Low Ticket Sales

5 huge tour dates were cancelled due to low ticket sales.

Swedish House Mafia's return to the limelight seems to be failing, with the band forced to cancel 5 huge tour dates due to poor ticket sales.

The shows were set to be held at the Amway Centre in Orlando, Madison Square Garden in New York, TD Garden in Boston, Verizon Arena in Washington D.C. and Little Caesars Arena in Detroit across August.

They had already cancelled three shows on their Paradise Lost Tour which included dates in New Jersey, Minneapolis and Phoenix.

Despite the low ticket sales in Northern America, it appears the tours 23 dates in Europe are selling much stronger, offsetting the cancellations in the U.S.

Their return was initially announced in October last year after a multi-year hiatus, but the landscape of electronic music has drastically changed since their final show previously at Ultra Music Festival in 2013. Their 2022 was launched last minute, as a replacement act for
Kanye West at this years Coachella.

The trio had not toured the U.S. in nearly a decade and the tour was planned before the release of their latest record, Paradise Again.

A representative told Billboard that the Los Angeles show was 60% sold out and was on track to be 90% sold. It was initially reported that less than 250 tickets were sold for their Phoenix show, but that was proven false by a Live Nation representative.

Zhu and Alesso were confirmed to support the band on the majority of their dates, while Grimes is set to perform at their Austin date and Kaytranada will support their Las Vegas tour date.
