St Kilda Festival is back this weekend, with over 70 artists poised to take multiple stages at Victoria's biggest free music festival.

On Saturday, 18 February, First Nations artists will be represented on the Main Stage and the O’Donnell Gardens Stage. The line-up features Christine Anu, a tribute to Archie Roach with his band and special guests, Lady Lash, Jem Cassar-Daley, Loren Ryan, Caution, Pirritu and many more.

Punters can also enjoy a 3x3 basketball competition, free face painting, art and circus workshops, an Afro dance hall workshop, performances by I-HOP Hip Hop Crew, free Mi Goreng samples at the Indomie tent and more family entertainment throughout the day.

On Sunday, 19 February, crowds of over 400,000 people are expected to descend on St Kilda for the traditional Big Festival Sunday

Returning in all its glory, the Main Stage overlooking the St Kilda Foreshore will feature Aussie rock icons Hoodoo Gurus, and electro-pop band Confidence Man, along with Yothu Yindi, Genesis Owusu, Teen Jesus and the Jean Teasers, Inkrewsive, Jacoténe, DEVY and Archie Roach Foundation presents Singing Our Futures and many others. It'll be a great weekend of music, and with a heatwave subsiding today, a far more comfortable weekend to enjoy live music.

Additional stages across the festival will host the likes of The Listies, Ashwarya, THNDO, Jen Cloher, Mick Harvey, EMPRESS, JK-47, Alice Ivy, Emma Vollard, Sokel, Charlie Needs Braces, The Black Harrys and many more, alongside a full line-up of emerging artists performing on the New Music Stage.

St Kilda Festival runs from 10 am to 10 pm on Saturday and Sunday, with no bookings required to attend.

If you're after the entire program, including a detailed timetable, more information is available on the St Kilda Festival website.

Festival producer Adele Denison stated that the festival is “unique for so many reasons” in 2018, which separates it from other events.

“It’s all free, all about Australian music, it’s on Melbourne’s favourite beach, and everyone is welcome."
