So called Sydney based magazine Soft Stir has opened submissions for their highly anticipated 3rd edition Stories Of Collision.
The news closely follows of the successful launch of their second volume which saw Ghanaian-Australian icon Genesis Owusu on the cover and was stocked throughout Sydney and across so called Australia.
Soft Stir is an independent so called Sydney based publication that examines art, music, culture and philosophy through the eyes of emerging creatives. They assist in helping emerging artists create work but also platform it, publish it and allow it to be appreciated by the wider creative community. Their curation is one that is focussed on creating an including space for reflection and creative expression.
On this magazine's theme Soft Stir shares, "Collisions occur in the physical realm, the political, the spiritual and beyond, through time, space, earth, bodies, culture, technology, ideals. From the scope of a single-celled organism to vast galaxies, violent conflicts to a delicate kiss – the impact of one narrative, one character, one entity upon another as they cross paths can be at once elemental and monumental, like the devastating hurricane created from the flutter of a butterfly’s tiny, proverbial wings."
Soft Stir invites creatives to respond to the theme in any medium including essays, short stories, interviews, poetry, illustrations, 3D graphics, photography and beyond. Submissions are strongly encouraged from First Nations Peoples, people living with disabilities, people from LGBTQIA+ communities, people based in regional and remote Australia and people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.

Selected pieces will have the opportunity to collaborate with Soft Stir's creative and editorial team who will help bring the stories to life. Submissions are open betweeen Friday the 4th of November and close Friday the 25th of November.
On their upcoming issue, the team says, "We’re incredibly excited to welcome another round of emerging creatives to our 3rd edition of Soft Stir. If our publication has proved anything so far, it’s that there are some incredible voices stirring amongst the local creative scene; they just need a space to speak."
