It’s been a long time coming, but a decade after they first got together, Shouse have officially confirmed the release of their debut album.

First getting together to make music in 2015, Shouse – the Naarm/Melbourne-based duo comprising Jack Madin and Ed Service – began releasing their work the following year, with their breakthrough single Love Tonight arriving the year after.

However, if that timeframe doesn't sound quite right, it's because it wasn't until 2021 that Love Tonight actually hit the mainstream. That was the year the track charted in the top ten in countries around the world and even nabbed the group the Best Independent Dance, Electronica or Club Single at the 2022 AIR Awards.

Since then, they've been a prominent fixture on the Aussie music scene and the airwaves, with tracks like Won't Forget You, the Jason Derulo-featuring Never Let You Go, and their new version of Chains with the great Tina Arena.

Now after years of singles, they’re finally issuing a full-length album, with Collective Ecstasy set to arrive on July 4. Alongside news of the track, they’ve also paired it with the release of latest single Sunrise.

“There’s something that happens around 2am – a quiet threshold between the high and the hush. ‘Sunrise’ was made for that space,” the pair explain. “Written in a rural Victorian shack in the still hours, the track centres on a simple guitar, a trumpet, a steady pulse and a refrain that carries the weight of longing: Take me to the sunrise, baby. I don’t want to be alone.

“SHOUSE’s signature sense of collective emotion pulses through the track – a reminder that dancing is never just about movement. It’s about sticking with each other, sharing the smoke, the sweat and the promise that something better is just over the hill, or just beyond the drop.”

Per a press release, the forthcoming record captures the very essence of what makes Shouse such a global hit, pairing their emotive vocals with euphoric musicianship, and combining it all to result in euphoric collections of shared joy when played out in the club.

Shouse’s Collective Ecstasy is out on July with pre-orders available now.
