Security have reportedly tracked down a teenage boy among 12,000 revellers at a P!nk concert in Melbourne last night after what was considered to be a threatening tweet was sent just before the pop star came on stage.

The tweet in question was intended to be a reference to lyrics to a P!nk song, but was considered a bomb threat by a deeply concerned security staff, who scaled the venue looking for the teenager.

The tweet read:

“@Pink I'm ready with my Bomb. Time to blow up #RodLaverArena. Bitch.”

The tweet was said to be a reference to P!nk's song Timebomb.

Speaking with 3AW this morning, the father of the arrested said that the child was found amongst the enormous crowd by nothing more than his Twitter profile picture.

“He's in the crowd and he's got his picture on his tweeter [sic] account,” he said. “Something about the face on there and [they were] looking for the face as they were searching the crowd, they approached him and said 'is this you' and he said 'yes'.”

Speaking with The Herald Sun this afternoon, the sister of the boy who has been charged slammed the actions of Rod Laver Arena security.

"We don't think it should be going to court because of the way they handled him. They pulled him, they threw him on the ground and locked him up," she said.

A witness at the scene said told Fairfax that up to 20 security guards approached the teen.

“We had no idea what was going on. The concert hadn't even started. We were just thinking 'gee what has this kid done'.”

It is believed Police advised against charging the boy, but the venue has decided to take action despite this.

“The policeman said to me, 'if it was up to me, I would have booted him in the backside and said go home'. But they demanded he be arrested,” the boy's father told 3AW.

This afternoon theMusic.com.au has left phone and email messages with Rod Laver Arena requesting comment, but have not received response in time for deadline.
