The first post-Xmas chart sees all 34 of the Top 50 seasonal tunes from last week disappear.
The winner in this race is the duet for Sam Smith and Kim Petras, with Unholy jumping up twelve spots to land at the top, thus laying claim to a sixth non-consecutive week at #1 by returning to the singles summit this week, and in doing so, the Unholy track becomes the equal sixth longest running #1 song for this decade alongside seven other tracks which have also racked up six weeks at the top of the ARIA Singles Chart.
The last of which was Taylor Swift with her Anti-Hero track (from October 31st, 2022), while Sam and Kim's track first spent four weeks at the top from October 3rd, 2022, gaining one extra week on December 12th, and now a sixth stay for this week. Sam's return also increases his tally of 'Weeks at #1: Singles (1940 to 2023)' to now eight overall weeks, moving him up that listing to equal 76th alongside other acts who've racked up eight weeks from two #1's like Boney M, Dr Hook, Silverchair, The Village People and Jennifer Warnes.
On the December 26th chart, the SZA track Kill Bill managed to climb to #2, and now this week, it rebounds ten places to re-peak at #2 for a second time, again matching the same position over on the albums charts too for her SOS set, while the track has re-taken the top-spot in New Zealand for a third overall week, and jumped back up into the Top 5 in England (32 to #4) and Ireland (18 to #3). Leaping back up twenty-two spots to #3 is the former #1 single for David Guetta and Bebe Rexha with I'm Good (Blue), which lands at the top in Germany for the first time this week (36 to #1), and it has leapt thirty places in New Zealand to land back up at #5.
With every song from last week's Top 10 now totally out of the Top 50 (and most likely the Top 100), the entirely reborn Top 10 this week sees Taylor Swift and her Anti-Hero track ride back up fourteen places to place at #4, while it also leaps in England (53 to #2) and Ireland (40 to #2), and she again has the #1 Album in the country with Midnights, followed by two eighteen place rebounds for Miss You by Oliver Tree and Robin Schulz plus I Ain't Worried for OneRepublic to #5 and #6 respectively.
The first new #1 single in England (13 to #1) for 2023, and returning for a third week at the top in Ireland (5 to #1), is the RAYE and 070 Shake track Escapism, which locally zooms up nineteen places to land it's first ever week within the Top 10 at #7, while the song has also jumped 31 to #3 in New Zealand and 45 to #5 in Germany, with the RAYE track now becoming her first ever Top 10 placement in Australia, beating her former best effort of a #12 peak on the Jax Jones track You Don't Know Me (April 2017).

Made You Look for Meghan Trainor rises back up fourteen places to land at #8 (England 66 to #5, Ireland 24 to #4 and NZ 29 to #4), followed by 2022's biggest selling single for Harry Styles As it Was, leaping back up twenty-five places to land at #9 and score it's 34th week within the Top 10 (the highest this week), making it now the seventh longest running Top 10 in Australia of all time, after which is a twenty-three place rise to #10 for the Metro Boomin', The Weeknd and 21 Savage track Creepin', having previously spent two weeks within the ten on December 12th and 19th (8 and 10) and matching its parent album Heroes & Villains album chart position of #10 too.
NOTHING BUT UP:
With nothing but rising tracks within the Top 50 this week, reclaiming their positions after the Christmas tsunami from the past few weeks, I'll break down the jumps in ten-unit blocks, starting with the smallest jumps.
A 10-19 place jump occurs for Central Cee's Let Go, which debuted at #15 three weeks ago, fell to #30 last week and now this week, the Passenger infused track jumps back up seventeen places to score a new peak of #13, which is the only track with this amount of minimal-jump-power.
20+ jumps: Three songs see 20+ leaps back up the chart, with the second biggest selling single for 2022 (and #1 in 2021) for Glass Animals and Heat Waves is propelled back up twenty-four spots to land at #14, followed by a twenty-eight place leap to #15 for Steve Lacy's Bad Habit, which also cracks the half-year (26 weeks) mark on the chart this week. The last two 20+ jumps are for the Chris Brown track Under the Influence, rising back up twenty-nine spots to #38 (LW-67), while SZA regains a second Top 50 entry this week as her track Nobody Gets Me is propped back up twenty-eight places to land at #43 (LW-71).
30+ rises: The first of nine 30+ rebounds goes to Eliza Rose and Interplanetary Criminal with their B.O.T.A. (Baddest of Them All) track, zooming thirty-five places to #11, followed by the first of two rebounding Elton John tracks, as his Dua Lipa duet Cold Heart (PNAU Remix) is back up thirty-two places to land at #12. Also repelled back into the Top 20 are Drake and 21 Savage with Rich Flex (48 to #17), Sunroof for Nicky Youre and dazy (54 to #19) and Ed Sheeran's Shivers' (59 to #20), while Ed also rebounds with Bad Habits (64 to #29).
Two thirty-four place rises occur for both Zach Bryan with Something in the Orange (57 to #23; 66th biggest single of 2022) and Dean Lewis' How Do I Say Goodbye (60 to #34), which also jumps back up in England (86 to a new peak #23) and Ireland (re-entry #21 (HP-16), followed by a thirty-five spot leap to a new peak of #27 for Calm Down for Rema and Selena Gomez, surpassing the #40 peak it achieved on December 19th, 2022.
40+ bullets: The first two songs to score 40+ rises jump back into the Top 20 this week, with the Beyoncé track Cuff it leaping forty-two places to #16, while a bigger leap occurs for the Kid Laroi and Justin Bieber duet Stay (#3 for 2022), as it's back up forty-three spots to land at #18, it's first Top 20 berth since October 24th, 2022.
Lizzo sees both of her current chart entries leap back into the Top 50 this week, the lower of the two rises is for 2 Be Loved (Am I Ready), amazingly up forty-one places to #31, with the next highest rising amount going to Tom Odell's Another Love, rebounding forty-three spots to regain the #33 spot. Forty-four places rises occur for Mr. Brightside for recent tourists The Killers (69 to #25, close to its former peak of #23), Dreams for Fleetwood Mac (78 to #34) and a second track landing its half-year within the Top 100 is Luke Combs' The Kind of Love We Make (88 to #44).
Forty-six place rises occurs for the Post Malone and Doja Cat duet "I Like You (A Happier Song)" to #40 (LW-86), while two forty-seven place jumps are seen for "Afraid to Feel" by LF System (75 to #28) and "Where Are You Now" by Lost Frequencies with Calum Scott (79 to #32), which was the highest placed non-Top 3 single within the EOY Charts, landing at #7 for 2022.
50+ zooms: Twelve tracks see fifty or more position jumps from last week, so let's start with the fifty-place rises; Save Your Tears for The Weeknd and Forget Me by Lewis Capaldi to #41 and #45 respectively, while a fifty-one place jump is seen by Bones for Imagine Dragons (99 to #48). A sole fifty-four place jump is for SNAP by Rosa Linn (96 to #42), followed by a heap of fifty-five place zooms.
Levitating for Dua Lipa is propelled 55 spots to land back at #22 this week, while the Stephen Sanchez and Em Beihold duet Until I Found You and Ferrari for James Hype and Miggy Dela Rosa are both up fifty-five places each and score new peaks at #30 and #35 respectively. Two further 55-jumps are seen by Star Walkin' for Lil' Nas X (102 to #47) and Just Wanna Rock by Lil' Uzi Vert (104 to #49).
The sixth and final new peak for the week is 10:35 for Tiësto and Tate McRae, which lands its first week within the Top 50 by leaping fifty-six chart-rungs to land at #24, with the other 56-spot jump being for Neighbourhood's Sweater Weather (106 to #50), while the last 50+ rises goes to Nicki Minaj's Super Freaky Girl, sliding back up fifty-seven spots to land back in the fifty-chart at #36 (LW-93).
OMG 60+: Entering its fourth year within the Top 50 is The Weeknd's former long-running #1 single Blinding Lights, which rockets back up sixty-six places to land back within the Top 100 at #37 (LW-103), the biggest climb for the week into the Top 50, while it's followed by two further 60+ rises; Elton John and Britney Spears' Hold Me Closer (100 to #39) and also thanks to new remixes for the JVKE track golden hour issued recently, it jumps back up sixty-three places to land back in the chart at #46 (LW-109).
