The Music chooses one song every week as its Power Pick, shining a light on ONE Aussie song that we think has the potential to be the next big Australian chart hit.
Our Power Pick committee consists of Richard Kingsmill (consultant and former triple j Group Music Director), Maddy Rowe (Nova nights announcer), Nic Kelly (Hit Network nights announcer), Ash McGregor (host of Listen Up with Ash McGregor), Kent “Smallzy” Small (Host of ‘The Smallzy Show’ on the Kiis Network), Irene Hulme (radio consultant and host of Game Changers Radio podcast) and Ollie Wards (ex-Head of Music for TikTok Australia).
Closing in on a decade since his auspicious debut, Melbourne producer Tobiahs continues to tick all the boxes.
Having released his acclaimed EP To You By Us (Vol. 1) just last year, it’s been a little quiet on the recorded music front of late, but he’s been chipping away in the background, returning just this month with his latest single, Stay With Me Through The Night.
A euphoric piece of work, its release was the result of a fan-vote after Tobiahs shared a batch of demos on social media that he had been working on. The result was his latest single, which has already been climbing up the ranks with streams since it dropped earlier this month.
“Stay With Me Through The Night has always been one of the songs I’ve felt most connected to,” Tobiahs said of the track. “It’s been with me since my very first tour, so seeing so many people gravitate towards it as the next single really means a lot.”

“Alongside the fans who encouraged him to release this track, we're also feeling the love for this new one from Tobiahs,” says Richard Kingsmill of the new tune. “The Melbourne producer has had a great run across the past two years with hits like Angel Of Mine and Lifetime. The success is sure to continue with his new one.
“Stay With Me Through The Night is an instant blast of euphoria. Tobiahs has cleverly pulled the hook from UK artist Fabiana Palladino's 2024 track of the same name, working it up into this fresh house track. In and out in just two and a half minutes, that melody just lingers for ages.
“Currently touring the U.S., we're predicting Tobiahs has a great shot at following in the steps of Dom Dolla and RÜFÜS DU SOL.”
CHART UPDATE
It's been a little while since we last saw an Aussie act up top of the Radio Monitor Hot 100 chart, but Josh Fawaz has done it, residing in the penthouse thanks to his flip of Madonna's Like A Prayer.
He's the only Aussie in the entire top 20, actually, with his nearest local neighbour being Think About Us, the Sonny Fodera cut which sits at No. 21, having previously sat in the same top spot.
G Flip's Bed On Fire jumps five spots to No. 22, while Tame Impala's Dracula continues to slow-fall, this week sitting at No. 23. Rachael Fahim's Deep End is at No. 27, while Amy Shark's The Biggest Dick closes out the top 30.
Pacific Avenue's Working Class Hero jumps to a new peak of No. 32 while The Kid LAROI's Girls re-enters at No. 38. Ecca Vandal's VERTICAL WORLDS skips up to No. 44 while The Avalanches' Jamie xx collab Every Single Weekend does a huge leap to No. 45 from 81.
The Kid LAROI closes out Aussie representation in the half-tonne, with PIECES featuring at No. 49.
Over on the Aussie Singles chart, this week is a huge Olivia Rodrigo success story, meaning that only a few Aussies are in the top 50. They're names we're all familiar with, with Tame Impala's Dracula at No. 18, The Kid LAROI’s Girls at No. 40, and G Flip's Bed On Fire at No. 47.
