The iconic Melbourne record store is re-launching its record label.

Melbourne's Polyester Records have today announced they are re-launching the label arm of their operation, with a series of vinyl releases set to come out under the Polyester umbrella in the coming months.

The label, which is run by the same team in charge of the iconic Melbourne record stores, initially operated through the 1980s and 1990s before finishing up in 1991 with the release of Ripe's Filterfeed. Now that it is reborn, it is looking to focus on releasing the music of certain Melbourne acts on vinyl; starting with the release of New War's eponymous debut, Grand Salvo's Slay Me In My Sleep and Maidenhair by Max Crumbs.

The records, which are being issued in partnership with the Sensory Projects and Preservation labels who released these albums on CD earlier this year, will be distributed through Inertia. The first release, New War's album, will be released tomorrow.
