Pitbull and his fans have set a new Guinness World Record for the largest gathering of people wearing bald caps.
The Miami rapper headlined the BST Festival at London’s Hyde Park on Friday (10 July), where he sought to set a new record.
The Guinness World Records organisation confirmed that the official count was 22,141 people wearing bald caps to see Pitbull’s performance, including the rapper himself, who is bald. And, during his performance, guest performer Kesha wore a bald cap, too.
An official adjudicator for the Guinness World Records, Will Munford, confirmed that it wasn’t a record for the “largest gathering of bald people,” so for Pitbull to be counted, he had to wear a bald cap “to be in the record number.”
Munford told The Guardian that the organisation had “400 volunteers” individually check punters wearing bald caps at the entrance and across the festival, as well as “drone footage with 42 counters backstage”.

Commenting on the record, Pitbull told reporters, per the BBC, “I’m speechless. Who would have ever thought a first-generation Cuban would be able to be in London record-breaking and record-making one for the Guinness Book of World Records.”
Mr Worldwide went on to thank his fans – “the baldies” – for their unwavering, devoted support.
Last year, podcast host and cultural commentator Jack Remmington came up with the idea for the record-breaking attempt to take place at BST.
Upon the announcement that Pitbull would headline the festival, Remmington took to social media to say that BST was the perfect location “to break the world record of people cosplaying as Pitbull.”
If fans wearing bald caps at a Pitbull gig sounds familiar, it might be because this trend has only grown in popularity over the years.
Last year, ahead of the musician’s Fridayz Live performance in Sydney, Aussie fans turned out in droves to take part in the Running Of The Pitbulls event, all of them decked out like Pitbull himself.
The same day as the Sydney flash mob, BBC Radio 1 Breakfast host Greg James floated the idea of a world record attempt, with Pitbull soon getting behind the notion himself.
