US punk faves Pissed Jeans have announced a trio of headline east-coast shows to complement their upcoming appearance at Meredith Music Festival this December.

The four-piece will kick off their standalone run in Sydney, at the Oxford Art Factory, with support from Batpiss — who'll play all three gigs — and Low Life, heading to Melbourne (also with Blank Statements) before playing their festival spot for Aunty Meredith. Then it's up to Brisbane to round out at The Foundry, with added support from Kitchen's Floor.

The run of shows will mark the band's first tour of Australia, and comes in the wake of their eagerly received new full-length, Why Love Now.

Their first LP since 2013's fourth studio effort, Honeys, the new album was co-produced by Lydia Lunch, who frontman Matt Korvette describes as "so cool and really intimidating", and Philly metal hero Arthur Rizk.

Why Love Now was released back in February, and you can get a handle on at least part of the end result with the clip for The Bar Is Low — a song about "how every guy seems to be revealing themselves as a shithead", Korvette says — below.

Tickets for Pissed Jeans' Sydney and Melbourne shows are available now; Brisbane's on sale from tomorrow, 18 August.
