Pink Floyd are commemorating 50 years of their iconic album, Wish You Were Here, with an enormous anniversary reissue.
Wish You Were Here 50 will be released on Friday, 12 December, via Sony Music Entertainment.
Announced overnight, the release celebrating the 1975 album will include 3-LP and 2CD formats, which are set to feature alternate mixes and demos.
Fans will also be able to purchase a box set with an extra LP of live material recorded at Wembley Stadium, as well as a Blu-Ray that amasses three concert films from the band’s 1975 tour. The Blu-Ray is also available to purchase outside of the box set.
In addition to physical releases, a digital edition of Wish You Were Here 50 is available to pre-order. Arriving with the original 1975 album that’s boosted by a new Dolby Atmos mix, courtesy of one of the band’s close collaborators, James Guthrie, the digital version will include 25 bonus tracks.
Some of those bonus tracks include nine studio rarities, as well as 16 live songs that were recorded by famed bootlegger Mike Millard at the Los Angeles Sports Arena in April 1975. Restored and remastered by Steven Wilson, the bootleg has been officially released for the first time.

One of Pink Floyd’s most affecting works, Wish You Were Here acted as a tribute to Pink Floyd’s co-founder and original vocalist, Syd Barrett.
Barrett departed the band seven years before the release of the album due to mental health issues and passed away in 2006.
As a result of his departure from the band, Roger Waters and David Gilmour shared vocal duties on Wish You Were Here, aside from the track Have A Cigar, which features folk singer Roy Harper.
The release of Wish You Were Here 50 follows the band’s 50th anniversary celebrations of The Dark Side Of The Moon in 2023, which allowed eight Australian super fans to experience the album like they never had before.
