Bucket caused a culture shift in Australian indie, leading onwards and upwards to support slots with bands like The Lemonheads and Fugazi, and sets at the coveted Big Day Out Festival.

Perth indie rock legends Bucket are set to reunite in the summer of 2025, marking their first performance since 2016. The band will celebrate the 30th anniversary of their debut release, Flounder, with a special show at Lyric’s Underground on Saturday, January 4, 2025.
Forming in 1992 for a five-year stint through Perth’s indie music circuit, Bucket snowballed their beginner live performances through the streets of Northbridge to that of recordings projected to US radio - an impressive feat at the time for a WA band.
The group’s debut EP, Flounder, was released in 1994 under the former Perth label Treadmill Records (also known for local bands Avid Grey & Flanders). Little did they know that their time spent writing in sharehouses and their suburban record studio would lead them to a pop-culture awakening in Australia. This led onwards and upwards to support slots with bands like The Lemonheads and Fugazi and sets at the coveted Big Day Out Festival.
Now, Bucket will return to the stage to commemorate their enduring legacy alongside the reissue of Flounder in all its DIY rock glory.
For the first time since its release, Flounder will be available on CD and limited-edition 10” vinyl, featuring upscaled original artwork. This time around, Aussie label Igloo Records will present the repressing.
As for those wanting to hear the soundwaves of Bucket’s signature grungey style in person, the original band will re-unite on stage for a one-off show held at Lyric’s Underground in Marylands on 4th January 2025.
