Jane’s Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell has made a filing denying “any and all” allegations of assault made by bandmate Dave Navarro in a $10 million lawsuit.

Earlier this year, Navarro accused Farrell of assault and battery during Jane’s Addiction's recent reunion tour. As PEOPLE reports, Farrell “denies each and every allegation” in Navarro’s complaint, and further denies that his bandmate has “been damaged in any way or in any amount whatsoever.”

According to reports, Farrell made 35 affirmative defences and claimed that Navarro failed to list facts “sufficient to constitute a cause of action” against the singer. He also alleged that Navarro has “unclean hands” and seeks the dismissal of the lawsuit.

Responding to Farrell’s latest filing, Navarro’s attorney, Christopher Frost, stated that the lawsuit filed by the Jane’s Addiction band members “speaks for itself.”

Frost added, “By responding in this way, Mr. Farrell is not taking any formal legal step to stop the litigation. This is consistent with the fact that they have taken no affirmative steps to advance their claims, whether serving discovery or otherwise, and it is consistent with the strength of the claims by Dave, Eric [Avery], and Stephen [Perkins].”

In July, Navarro, bassist Eric Avery, and drummer Stephen Perkins filed a lawsuit against Farrell after an on-stage altercation last year that resulted in the cancellation of their remaining tour dates.

Navarro was suing Farrell for assault and battery for the on-stage altercation, which took place in Boston last September, while his bandmates sued for emotional distress, negligence, and breach of contract.

Hours after his bandmates sued him, Farrell filed a separate lawsuit that claims that he was the victim of “bullying.” He countersued his bandmates for assault, battery, infliction of emotional distress, and breach of contract. He also sought damages.

The lawsuit stated that Farrell wanted to keep touring following the on-stage incident, but alleges that his bandmates cancelled the tour and made him the “scapegoat” by informing fans the cancellation was due to Farrell allegedly having “mental health difficulties.”

The lawsuit continues, “Plaintiffs are informed, believe and on these bases allege that defendants made their false and defamatory statements regarding Perry Farrell’s mental health in a spurious effort both to change the narrative about the events of the band’s last show, but also as a part of a disingenuous effort to secure insurance coverage for their own irresponsible cancellation of the tour.”

Jane’s Addiction was founded by Farrell, Avery, Chris Brinkman and Matt Chaikin in Los Angeles in 1985. Navarro and Perkins joined the band in 1986 and returned after its reunions, playing on all the group’s releases.
