'Live Music Is Back': Adelaide Announces Big New Gig Series With Local Favourites

"Now is a great chance for audiences to really embrace the amazing talent here in South Australia.”

Live music is back in South Australia in a big way, with Music SA today unveiling new outdoor concert series Parks & Rockreation.

The first of three, free, outdoor music events at various parklands around the city will take place later this month with a line-up that boasts local favourites Wanderers, Neon Tetra, Alana Jagt, Brian’s Marquette Band and Broken Waves.

After its October 18 debut, Heaps Good Friends will headline the November event, followed by Stellie in December.

“These outdoor events are here to remind people that live music is back, and in a safe environment,” Parks & Rockreation organiser Steve Pitkin said.

“The entire industry including venues and artists have really taken a hit over the pandemic and with travel restrictions, now is a great chance for audiences to really embrace the amazing talent here in South Australia.”

The new gig series is part of Music SA’s GO LIVE, an initiative established in order to reinvigorate the state’s music scene following the cancellation of major winter music festival Umbrella due to COVID.
