The strip searches took place at Splendour In The Grass and Lost City.

An inquest has found that four strip searches undertaken at music festivals in NSW were unlawful.

As ABC reports, the Law Enforcement Conduct Commission (LECC) found that one strip search at 2018’s Splendour In The Grass and three strip searches at Lost City music festival last year, all of which involved teenagers, were unlawful.

The LECC reportedly found that officers made no attempt to contact a parent, guardian or support person, which is required by law for anyone under the age of 18.

Despite finding all four incidences were unlawful, the ruling did not present findings of misconduct against the officers involved in the strip searches.

Back in February, 12 children were reportedly strip searched at Lost City without a guardian present, however, police say all strip searches conducted on the day were done in accordance with the law.
