Sydney rockers Nitocris are coming back for one night only and releasing a double album to celebrate their 25-year reunion show.
The band initially burst onto Sydney’s rock and roll scene in 1993. For eight years straight, Nitocris tore through the Australian touring circuit, playing a whopping 1500 shows.
In addition to their relentless headline tours, they appeared on the country’s major rock festival bills and supported artists from Australia and abroad. In those eight years, Nitocris released two full-length albums and numerous EPs.
They secured plenty of radio play and an ARIA Award nomination, and developed a strong reputation as one of Australia’s most-loved rock acts before disbanding in 2001.
Now, the band are reuniting for one show only at the Marrickville Bowling Club on Saturday, 3 October. To further commemorate the one-off occasion, they’ve teamed up with Farmer & The Owl Records to release a double vinyl album, set for release on Friday, 4 September.
Announcing their shock reunion on Facebook today, Nitocris shared a series of drumroll emojis before writing: “.....and without further ado, see you all at the Marrickville Bowling Club on 3 October for the Nitocris 25-year reunion show! One show only!”
The band added that they “can’t wait to see everyone.”
Tickets, reunion t-shirts, and bundle options are now available for purchase. The double vinyl album is also available to pre-order here.
You can secure tickets via Oztix and a Nitocris t-shirt via the band’s website.

In the early days of their touring career, four members of Nitocris were under the legal age to enter 18+ music venues. So, when they performed in Sydney pubs, they were sometimes accompanied by their mothers.
The band’s upcoming show at the Marrickville Bowling Club marks their first performance since a one-off reunion in September 2009. Since their disbandment, the members of Nitocris have gone on to enjoy long-standing careers in music, fashion, and more.
