Break out the leather chaps, mullets and aviators – Dingbats is where old school, late night rock lives on.

New Sydney nightclub Dingbats – presented by entertainment company NITE RITE – will open its doors in early March to answer to the growing demand for late-night spaces that cater to the alternative, underground, hard rock scenes of Sydney.
Bringing an unapologetically old-school rock setup to the CBD, Dingbats aims to revive the fist-pumping, fire-breathing, full-tilt frenzy that should encompass a night out on the town. Hosting a monthly curation of live bands, DJs and hard rock revelry, Dingbats will kick off its launch event, DINGBATS Party Pit, on March 7 at 16 O’Connell St, Sydney CBD (underneath Arcade Bar).
Dingbats is only a slice of what’s to come for Sydney’s late-night rock scene, with NITE RITE founder Jordan McDonald stating: “I have some very exciting new spaces set to open in Sydney in the next few weeks. I will be programming these venues and pledge to bring a regular dose of rock & roll back to Sydney's landscape of live events,”
“I am working with acts, agencies and promoters to freshen up the tour circuit, so fans can see bands in new settings, and more stages are on the menu in general.”
Consecrating the sacred space will be five exciting bands that draw heavily on the rock clubs of Hollywood’s Hair Metal era.
Two-piece DIY rock-punk outfit Mannequin Death Squad will bring their ferocious riffs and undeniably infectious energy to the Dingbats stage alongside Australian Poison tribute show Poizon’Us and late 80’s rock connoisseurs Big Red Fire Truck, Bloody Legend and The Hush. DJs NITECALL, AXL BROS and JORDAN ADAM will take over the sound system with a rotation of heavy metal music to keep you company in between sets.

Compact within the raunchy, dimly-lit, “fake luxe” venue reminiscent of the velvety rock clubs of the 90s is an onslaught of live music, beer and liquor, equipped to take you through to the early hours of the morning.
In true, old-school rock and punk belligerence, the launch event will host Thraxxy Kilmister's Horrendously Bad Tattoo Competition, encouraging all (who dare) to present their most regrettable, permanent displays of ink for a chance to win mega merch packs and tattoo credit.
The event promises an entirely wheelchair-friendly layout, with disabled facilities available.
