Narre Warren venue District 14 has announced that its doors are closing, with its final planned events also being axed.
The suburban venue shared the news of its impending closure on social media on Sunday (July 20th), revealing that “after doing everything we could to keep our doors open, we’re heartbroken to share that District 14 will be closing down.”
“We’ve poured everything into this space — from the team behind the scenes to every DJ, performer, and patron who made each night unforgettable,” the District 14 team explained. “Unfortunately, we’re no longer in a position to continue operating.
“From all of us at District 14: thank you for the love, energy, and support. This chapter is closing, but we’re beyond grateful for the moments we’ve shared.”
In their statement, the team explained that all of their forthcoming events “will be cancelled and fully refunded,” though stated it would have “one final send-off this Saturday.” They added: “This will be the last night District 14 ever opens its doors, and we hope you’ll join us for one final celebration of the memories we’ve made together.”
However, the venue posted on Monday (July 21st) that the planned Empire club night reunion would not be going ahead on Saturday, July 26th. “We are sorry to announce that we are now no longer able to move forward with this Saturday’s final event,” they added without further explanation.

According to the venue’s website, three upcoming events were set to take place. The first of these was an edition of their RIOT event, which featured performances from the likes of RedHook and Bad Love.
Alongside the Empire club night, an additional RIOT evening featuring Dream On Dreamer was also planned for August.
District 14 first opened its doors in January 2023, with its southeast location giving it a unique position in the outer suburban Victorian music scene.
Over the past two years, the venue hosted a diverse array of musicians and performers, ranging from the likes of Lime Cordiale, Windwaker, Reece Mastin, The Rubens, Make Them Suffer, Taxiride, and more.
In addition to frequent gigs and club nights, the venue positioned itself as “the south east’s premier community and function space,” and also made mention of their youth musicians mentor program and DJ school & music production schools on their website.
