That makes 12 local albums to hit #1 this year!
It's been another impressive week for local acts on the ARIA Charts.
5 Seconds Of Summer's Luke Hemmings has claimed the #1 on this week's ARIA Albums Chart with his debut album When Facing The Things We Turn Away From.
Hemmings is no stranger to the top spot thanks to his time with 5 Seconds Of Summer. The group, who hail from Sydney, have landed in the top spot with all four of their studio albums - 2014's 5 Seconds Of Summer, 2015's Sounds Good Feels Good, 2018's Youngblood and 2020's Calm.
This is the 12th Australian #1 album on the chart this year.
"Luke Hemmings has proven himself to be one of Australia’s most beloved, talented, and iconic performers," said ARIA CEO Annabelle Herd.
"All of us at ARIA congratulate Luke on taking his first step as a solo artist and going straight to #1 with When Facing the Things We Turn Away From. Such an immense contribution to the Australian music landscape."
