“With Young Thug’s legal troubles in the US likely to continue into next year, Listen Out have made the decision (and hustled like hell) to replace him."

Following news last month that Listen Out headliner Young Thug had been arrested on gang-related charges, organisers have announced he will be replaced on the line-up.

Trippie Redd and Roddy Ricch both join Listen Out, while AJ Tracey signs on for Adelaide’s Listen In.

“With Young Thug’s legal troubles in the US likely to continue into next year, Listen Out have made the decision (and hustled like hell) to replace him with TWO of this generation’s most essential hip hop artists,” reads a statement released this afternoon.

The tour will be Roddy Ricch’s first-ever Aussie shows, with previously announced festival acts Polo G, Central Cee, 24kGoldn, Louis The Child, Doechii, LP Giobbi and Nia Archives also making their debut in the country with Listen Out this September and October.

Disclosure, Tove Lo and stacks more also feature on the bill.

Back in May, it was revealed that Young Thug, real name Jeffery Williams, had been arrested alongside 27 other people, including rapper Gunna.

He was arrested at his Atlanta home on suspicion of gang involvement over an alleged 2018 incident, and conspiracy to violate the state Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organisations Act (RICO) over an alleged 2013 incident.

It was also alleged that Young Thug rented a vehicle in 2014 that was later used in connection with the murder of a rival gang member.

All those named in the 56-count grand jury indictment were accused of being members of the “criminal street gang” YSL, which shares the same initials as Williams’ YSL Records imprint.

Other members of YSL were charged with murder and attempted armed robbery.
