If you’ve found yourself catching live music around the Naarm/Melbourne music scene in recent years, then there’s a solid chance you might have caught a performance from the talented Lewis Toms.
An accomplished multi-instrumentalist with a strong command for composition, songwriting, and immersive performances, he’s been often found bringing his slick blend of rock and pop to stages throughout Fitzroy and beyond.
Over the past year, there’s also been a slew of releases as well, including his Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 EPs. It’s a stellar representation of a powerful musician who knows their way around the creative world, and a strong indicator of what the future holds.
Now, after plenty of live dates – and even the release of last year’s Live From Baxter’s Lot EP – Toms is set to take his musical experience to the stage once more, albeit with an expanded lineup.
On August 3rd, music fans will be able to bear witness to the debut performance of Lewis Toms Trio, which captures Toms backed by the-talented Woody Samson (synths, guitars, trumpet) and the endlessly expressive Angus McKean as they bring the Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 EPs to life.
Together, the trio are more than a sum of their parts, transforming the intimate studio recordings into immersive live celebrations, expanding upon the solid sound with a rich blend of subtle beauty and explosive intensity.

For those wanting a little bit of an example of what to expect, Toms and Samson – themselves former bandmates in House Of Wood – collaborated on the Light On single back in December, offering a taster of their joint efforts.
Featuring Maeve Grieve and Aunty Blue on support, the performance is set to live up to the promise laid out in its descriptor: “this is more than just a gig — it’s a celebration of local artistry, collaboration, and sound that moves.”
Tickets to the Lewis Toms Trio’s upcoming show are available now.
