Say what you will about the career of 10cc, but they've certianly come a long way since their early high school shows at the local Jewish Lads' Brigade.

Over the course of their four-and-a-half-decade-strong career, the English art rock band have generated more hits than you can shoot rubber bullets at (sorry), and are now bringing their still-vital live show to Australia once again for nine dates across the country as part of their Greatest Hits Tour 2015.

The line-up of the band currently includes founder Graham Gouldman on bass and vocals, Rick Fenn on guitar and vocals, and Paul Burgess on drums, along with multi-instrumentalists Mick Wilson and Mike Stevens.

Gouldman recently ruled out any new music from group a few years ago when he spoke to The Music in the lead up to their last visit — so all the more reason to scrub up on the classics — though, from the sounds of things more recently, it's not like they'd have the time to spend on crafting new tracks with all the touring they've been doing of late.

"Year on year we get busier and busier," Gouldman said in a statement. "It's great, we love touring and playing together and we get on really well. The audiences these days are very gratifying. You get the people you would expect, who grew up with 10cc, but you also get young kids who know the songs too.

"Now, whether they've discovered 10cc for themselves, via the internet or radio, or just grown up with their parents playing it in the house, I don't know — but we get a great mix of people from the generations.”

The tour will span through October and November, with the run of shows encompassing Perth (28 October), Melbourne (30 October), Bendigo (31 October), Frankston (2 November), Canberra (4 November), Wollongong (5 November), Sydney (6 November), Gold Coast (7 November) and Airlie Beach (8 November). Tickets for Melbourne and Wollongong's shows go on sale on 3 July, but all other other shows are available now through a multitude of channels.
