Lana Del Rey has announced that her ninth album, Did You Know That There's A Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd, will be released on Friday, 10 March 2023.

Known for cinematic musical scope, dream-pop vocals, and critiques of contemporary pop culture from the 1950s and 1960s, the Video Games singer has developed a cult base of listeners and critical acclaim for her eight albums.

The follow-up to her 2021 records Chemtrails Over The Country Club (watch Hayley Mary's excellent cover of the title track here) and Blue Banisters features collaborations with producers Jack Antonoff, Drew Erickson and Zach Dawes, engineer Laura Sisk, as well as guest vocalists Jon Batiste, Father John Misty, and Tommy Genesis.

Earlier this year, Del Rey urged her fans not to listen to leaks of unfinished tracks that may or may not have made up Did You Know... after her laptop and 200-page manuscript she was writing for Simon & Schuster - which wasn't backed up - a bunch of hard drives, and three camcorders filled with family home videos were stolen from her car.

Del Rey said in a series of now-deleted Instagram Live videos, "A few months ago, I parked my car on Melrose Place, and I stepped away for a minute. And the one time I left my backpack inside my car, someone broke all the windows and took it.

"I had to remotely wipe the computer that had my 200-page book for Simon & Schuster - which I didn't have backed up on the cloud. And despite that, people are still able to remotely access my phone and leak our songs and personal photos. I loved the book that I lost with all of my heart and put a lot of passion into it.

"Please don't listen to the music if you hear it, because it's not coming out yet," she pleaded with fans.

"I don't even think a plea for respect or some privacy would even do anything, but I do want to be honest about the fact that I do have concerns about what's going to be out there.

"I'm hoping that nothing else becomes available or stolen, and this is just an off-the-cuff thought that I've had for a long time," she said in another video. Rolling Stone reached out to representatives for Del Rey for comment.
