For the real night owls, Tension drops at 2 am AEST (4 am in New Zealand for the earliest of early birds) tomorrow. Another teaser on Minogue’s socials plays a clip of a disco-pop tune that will be the perfect follow-up to the undeniable Padam Padam.

Of course, with an artist as fun as Kylie, a new single can’t arrive without new visuals. While Padam Padam saw Minogue draped in red, everything about Tension is bathed in bright green, offering up the 90s house music and Impossible Princess vibes.
In addition to the new single, Kylie shared that she’s performing as part of the “An Audience With” series at London’s Royal Albert Hall in partnership with ITV. Here’s how you can be in with a chance to score fan pre-sale tickets.
Padam Padam is currently sitting at #60 on the Official Charts (UK) after charting for 14 weeks and previously hitting the peak of #8. It’s her most successful hit in ten years.
As for what “padam padam” actually means… Well, there isn’t exactly a concrete answer – but that hasn’t stopped thousands of fans around the world from adopting it into their daily lexicons, and it certainly hasn’t stopped The Music from attempting to narrow down its potential meanings.
Minogue’s new album, Tension, is slated to arrive on Friday, 22 September, via BMG. Tension was made to help Minogue “navigate challenging times and celebrate the now. I hope it accompanies listeners on their own journeys and becomes part of their story.”
On the new album, Minogue continued, “I started this album with an open mind and a blank page. Unlike my last two albums, there wasn’t a ‘theme,’ it was about finding the heart or the fun or the fantasy of that moment and always trying to service the song.
“I wanted to celebrate each song’s individuality and to dive into that freedom. I would say it’s a blend of personal reflection, club abandon and melancholic high.”

Earlier this month, Minogue revealed that she wants to work with The Killers. Not all that surprising when she featured on Nick Cave’s Murder Ballads album on the duet, Where The Wild Roses Grow, and previously worked with the Manic Street Preachers and put out a song as unique as Confide In Me.
Speaking with E! Online, the Aussie singer said, “I’ve always loved more kind of indie bands, like The Killers.
“Most collaborations I’ve done have come to me, so I haven’t had to make that decision. But whoever I work with, I think there’s always something to learn from people I work with.”
