John Butler TrioWA-based John Butler Trio have debuted in the US Albums chart at 58 with their latest release Flesh And Blood. It is the third time the roots outfit have graced the American charts - Grand National peaked at 110 in 2007, while April Uprising peaked at 36 in 2010.
The album has also debuted at 13 in both the US Independent Albums and US Top Rock Albums charts. In Europe, Flesh And Blood impacted the French iTunes chart, getting as high as 17 on February 7 and reaching 20 in Canada's iTunes chart on February 3. [The album will chart high in Australia this week too, when ARIA release this week's rankings later tonight.]
In the US Dance Club Songs chart, Sydney's Betty Who continues to climb with her gay club anthem Somebody Loves You, up from 11 to five in its eighth week in. Further down that chart Australia's Empire Of The Sun find their latest single Celebrate up from 48 to 34 - its second week in.
Empire's Nick Littlemore is also finding success in Europe at the moment with his other musical project Pnau. The track Changes by French duo Faul & Wad-Ad - which samples the refrain from the Austalian duo's Baby and credits Pnau as a feature artist - is charting across Europe. Changes debuts this week in the Netherlands at 47 as well as currently sitting at three in Belgium, four in Switzerland, six in both Hungary and Russia, 18 in the Czech Republic, 36 in France and 63 in Greece. The song has also recently peaked at number one in Germany and two in Austria. It climbs to 13 in the overall European charts this week - where Melbourne lad Vance Joy's Riptide also moves up to 55.
