The love is strong for the Cold Chisel legend

More Jimmy Barnes More Jimmy Barnes

Aussie icon Jimmy Barnes continues to dominate the charts as his latest record, Soul Searchin’, shoots to the top of the Carlton Dry Independent Music Charts to debut at #1.

The win on the Indie Music Charts follows a first place debut on the ARIA Albums Chart over the weekend, the Cold Chisel vocalist’s 11th solo record to place that high, and hype that also sees re-entries for his 2015 compilation Best Of The Soul Years (#14) and 30:30 Hindsight (#17).

Aussie electro maestro Flume continues to make a strong impact with his latest offering, Skin, sitting at #2 on the Albums chart (knocked down a slot by Barnes) and Say It, ft. Tove Lo holding steady at #1 over on the Singles chart, while his Kai collaboration, Never Be Like You, sits at #4 and his self-titled 2012 LP moves down to #11.

Tasmanian country rock outfit The Wolfe Brothers are the only other debut on this week’s charts, placing at #3 as they try to figure out This Crazy Life, while Urthboy sees a bump in figures, moving up seven places to #13 with The Past Beats Inside Me Like A Second Heartbeat and The Rubens’ Hoops re-entering to claim #20.
